Acadia N.P. – Cadillac Mountain

Scroll down to content

I had the pleasure of hiking the South Ridge Trail up Cadillac Mountain from Blackwoods Campground this morning. It’s a well marked out and back trail that is about 9 miles round trip and it took me about 4 hours total.

This trail is remarkable, from the towering trees to vast bedrock that seems to go on forever, this trail is perfect for those who like a challenge with reward.

The top is astounding, with 360° views of the Acadia region. There is a small gift shop at the top, and some trails that split off if you want something a little more.

Be sure not to move or create any cairns so as not to confuse the other hikers, bring lots of water and wear sunscreen and bug repellent!

Happy hiking.

The Daily Discovery-

I can hike a lot further than I thought at low elevations, which is great motivation for hiking longer distances.
