Strangers begging forgiveness for bumping legs. Awkward nudges to leave the subway. A man in his groove dances to the tune of his own mind-band. People starting at those who don’t fit their profile.

We judge those who aren’t like us but rarely stop to think they may be sharing the same hurts and joys as us. We see a difference but we don’t feel the similarity.

When’s the last time you met a stranger and connected on a deep personal level? I’ve struggled to make deep personal connections recently, but I strive to learn more about emotional intelligence.
